Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a day of celebration for people of Latin America, for Mexican Americans and, more recently, for anyone who wishes to commemorate the life of a loved one who has departed.
Dia de los Muertos Dancing Art Workshop is a family-centered workshop that introduces participants to the historical and cultural significance of this colorful holiday through the making of calaveritas de azulcar (sugar skulls), dancing La Danza de los Viejitos (the dance of the little old men), the creation of an ofrenda (an alter or literally an offering), and making our own Danza de los Muertos, (Dance of the Dead) as we imagine a celebrating skeleton might dance. The last day of this workshop will be a feast of traditional Dia de los Muertos foods, music and dance.
